If a judge granted you a long-term restraining order (on form DV-130), you can ask to renew (extend) it before it expires. A judge will decide at a court date whether to renew it.
There is no fee to ask the court to renew your order.
Follow the steps below to ask the judge to renew your restraining order.

1. Ask to renew a restraining order
Fill out forms and file them with the court. You will get a court date.

2. Serve the other side
Have the sheriff, or other server, deliver a copy of the filed forms to the restrained person.

3. Prepare for court
What to bring and what to expect at your court date. Go to your court date.

4. Serve the order to renew
If the judge renews your restraining order, you need to have a copy of the order served on the other side.
